TIGHT Firming Body Crème

I (Jillian) have always kinda thought that firming body creams was a bunch of BS. I’ve tried them before, but that was pre-peptides in skincare times, the body firming cream I had tried was using ingredients like caffeine and cayenne pepper to increase blood flow to the surface of the skin…leave me with a very red, itchy butt for a few hours…I’m happy that time in skincare has now come to an end.

Peptides are little miracle ingredients that send signals to our cells to do certain things. In this particular circumstance, the peptides that are chosen for this TIGHT creme are Caprooyl Tetrapeptide-3 and Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2. There are many incredible peptides on the market today, but I have chosen peptides from a specific cosmetics lab based out of France.

The first peptide is the same one that’s in the Barrier Repair Face Cream - it’s great for helping to restore the health of the dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ) and thicken it. The DEJ is something that thins as we age, leads to greater visibility of fine lines and wrinkles. Topical application of Caprooyl Tetrapeptide-3 twice daily has been shown to improve skin tones by 79% after 4 weeks and reduce the appearance of stretch marks by 68% after 8 weeks.

The second peptide, Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2 helps with reducing progerin synthesis, an aging biomarker that is involved in skin cellular senescence (a cellular aging phenomenon where cells lose the ability to divide and an increase in other cellular processes the can degrade the extracellular matrix). In other words, Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2 help mitigate cellular processes that are associated with aging, helping to improve skin firmness, tone and tightness. Lifting and firming vibes.

Just like the Barrier Repair Face Cream, this product is a lamellar emulsification system, helping to support the health and integrity of the skin barrier, instead of compromising it like most typical emulsifiers do. I have chosen to add butters (mango and kokum - still low on the comedogenicity scale) into this product to help with enhance emollience that’s so nice to have in a body care product.

Resveratrol is still present in this body cream, just as it is in the face cream for similar reasons - antioxidant protection, evening out skin tone, improving the health of the skin microbiome, promote skin cell renewal and reduce skin irritation.

Now that I think of it, I shoulda named this the TIGHT Treatment, because it is meant to be used more like a targeted treatment cream than a whole body affair (which is where the Ceramide Body Oil comes in…).

DIRECTIONS: Apply in an upward sweeping motion to buttocks, inner thighs, lower abdomen, breasts and upper arms morning and evening.
